Starring in the debut collection are five lab-grown gemstones – topaz, yellow sapphire, pink sapphire, orange sapphire and emerald – with each stone available in any of the eight core styles, giving a total of 40 out of 42 pieces. This versatility gives 42 SUNS exceptional styling potential, according to MR PORTER Style Director Mr Olie Arnold. “While all of the pieces work well individually, it’s worn together that they really come into their own,” he says.

We’ve taken the liberty of showing you a little bit of what that mix-and-match stacking can achieve in the images seen here, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. With thousands of potential combinations in this collection, 42 SUNS is a brand that rewards and embraces experimentation. And for proper, show-stopping style, don’t miss the two hero pieces of “Chapter One”, a necklace and a bracelet set with all five of the collection’s gemstones.

And finally, as the name of the debut collection suggests, this is just the beginning for 42 SUNS, which is set to return with “Chapter Two” next season. With a zero-waste supply chain that sees any deadstock or surplus material recycled into the next collection, you can expect some familiar colours, but in new shapes, settings and styles. We’re excited already.
