With a respect for tradition but a desire to break down barriers, Ezra Collective has established itself as one of the most exciting formations in the fascinating London jazz scene. Mixing jazz and afrobeat as well as more contemporary music like grime, their tunes have been described as “fast energetic nonstop pure vibrations”. It’s sure to put you in a good mood.
The quintet recently released their second album “Where I’m meant to be”. Brotherly duo Femi and TJ Koleoso tell FRANCE24’s Florence Villeminot what inspired the album and how they’re on a mission to bring the world of jazz to a younger generation and show that it isn’t dusty or elitist but fun.
We also look at new releases from London-based singer/songwriter and producer Anna B Savage, and indie rock’s most steadfast institution Yo La Tengo.
